03:48 pm - Writer's Block: Honey Bear
Happy birthday, A. A. Milne! Not coincidentally, it's also Winnie the Pooh Day. Which resident of Pooh Corner do you identify with the most?
Eeyore and, oddly enough, Rabbit. It always used to drive me crazy when Tigger would come wreck his garden. And I totally understood Eeyore's pain.

08:20 pm - Writer's Block: Internal Assets
As the holiday season draws to a close, you might be feeling a little strapped for cash. Would you ever consider selling one of your organs (bodily organs, that is) if you really needed the money?
Okay, this is the first time I've seen one of the writer's block prompts and actually felt compelled to answer.
I would totally consider selling a kidney. Or part of my liver. If I needed money enough, I could part with those.

02:18 pm - birthdays, birthdays. :)
Happy, happy birthday to lovinlorne! I hope you are having a very nice day, Carole. You are great, and I'm thinking of you today. :)
And a belated happy birthday to cantinera! I'm sorry I missed it. I hope it was good, because you are awesome.
And now, I have to get back to the mountain of homework I have to do. :(

09:08 pm - A message from danamulder.
I got a call from Cassie this evening, and she is safe with her family (minus Ethan, who elected to stay in his apartment) in a hotel in Fredericksburg. So, hopefully the storm will pass and everything will be okay in a couple days. So, everybody keep danamulder in your thoughts and prayers. :)

03:12 am - Clever, GOP. Clever.
This McCain/Palin business only further convinces me of two things.
1. Republicans are still only interested in oil, drilling for more oil, money from oil, destroying Alaska for oil, ignoring alternative fuel sources for oil, bombing Iraq for oil, oil, oil, oil. And screwing the middle class out of every penny they can.
2. I will be bitter about Hilary not being on the Democrat ticket until 2012 when she finally becomes president.

11:44 pm - EVERYONE.
I went to a midnight showing of Dark Knight last night. It was incredible.
SEE IT NOW.
I'm doing better in the apartment now. I still don't sleep well, but at least it's not so depressing anymore. I'm flying up to Oregon for a few days in a couple weeks, so that helps a lot. I want to thank everybody for being so encouraging. Especially arknflark. You're, like, my favorite. :D
I start school in about a month! How crazy is that? :)

09:08 pm - Happy Independence Day, America!
For all the Yankees on my flist, I hope you are all having a good day off. I know I am. I spent most of the day catching up on several hours of lost sleep.
I'm grateful that the American Revolution (or rebellion, depending on how you look at it, lol) means that I get to sleep in until roughly 5 PM. :D

So, my mom and the cats are now on their way to Oregon. The house is all wrapped up and everything.
I don't quite know how to react to a twenty-four year stage of my life being over.
In other news, I got less than an hour of sleep last night! Not for lack of trying!

11:08 am - Muffler, anyone?
Here I am on my day off, trying to catch up on some desperately needed sleep, and someone on the expressway thirty feet from my open window (because it's freaking hot and I need the fresh air) revs their engine and speeds down the road like there's a zombie invasion or something. And this vehicle was so loud that it ripped me out of a deep sleep and almost made me fall out of bed. I thought something was exploding in the apartment complex, it was that loud. It scared the freaking crap out of me! I mean, people have loud engines all the time here, but this was ridiculous! I thought something terrible was happening right outside my window, but it turns out it's just some asshole driving a planet-killing, ego-boosting machine without any kind of muffler.
I can't wait for it to be cold so I can keep my windows closed all the time. The noise isn't a problem when the heat doesn't force me to open so many windows...
